Lmao how in the world are the Lakers dumb for not trading away a pick to take on a player that hasn’t played in a year and by all accounts is just as bad of a fit!? John Wall is not that guy anymore and I hate to break it to you but he’s not likely to be the same dude anymore. WB seems to get worse when left very wide open, shakes his confidence Simmons-style. With Wall you could have put him in a situation where for the first time in his career he's wide open all day and he's a better defender. Lakers are dumb for not trading a protected 2027 pick to upgrade from WB to Wall. It's amazing what one extra second to shoot an open 3 can do for your percentages and it's also clear that Kawhi/Lue are not letting him on the floor without playing his best possible defense which btw is nowhere near as bad as WB has been. It's going to be a good move for him and Jackson/Kawhi/George are not in that elite tier of handling the ball and running an offense (though arguably Batum can run a better offense than Wall). He looked like his next season would be a healthier one. That one season in Houston, he looked like he lost a step but he didn't look cooked, much like Klay for example. At the very least, his 3pt% will go up a few points and he will play harder on defense. The defense that's going to be played against him is going to be significantly lower. John Wall has been the most planned for offensive player on his team since his career began. On his own or with George in OKC, he couldn't do anything. Russell Westbrook has played his career with Kevin Durant, James Harden, Anthony Davis and Lebron James drawing the main attention. Sane wrote:Listen, Wall is not as good as he thinks obviously but he certainly has a point. If wall is your 4th best player and healthy Kawhi is your best and Healthy PG13 is your second best man that’s a good team. If Kawhi and George are healthy, they have a tough team to beat in a 7-game series If he accepts his role, which I'm sure he will, they'll be rock solid I'm sure his first step isn't what it used to be. Either way - I would love to see wall winĪgreed, that's why I said I hope he's been working on his jumper. Walls high usage days will be limited to games without KL or PG- which could be a lot of games based on their injury history. It’s going to be obvious which one real quick. Wall is either washed because of inactivity at a high level, injuries or age.OR he is fresh, rested and ready to contribute at a high level. Just joking with you cause you a raptors fan.but either way. I'm not sure where the Lowry comment came from, considering I didn't make mention of himīut Lowry wasn't very good last year and he's 36 years old, so there's that
